The access terminal features soft, rounded edges wherever possible, which makes it safer. User contact areas are smooth in order to facilitate cleaning and help prevent infection.

The front panel is IP65-certified. The IP65 standard is one of a series of protection codes defined in the IEC 60529 standard, “Degrees of protection offered by enclosures (IP code)”, issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (www.iec.ch). IP65-certified products are hermetically sealed against dust and medium-strength water spray.

The rear panel is IP58-certified, which means that it is protected against dust penetration.

The antimicrobial agent Novaron has been added to the primary plastics that make up the access terminal, i.e. the front casing, the rear casing and the telephone handset. Novaron is a silver-supported agent in an inorganic ion exchanger that shows excellent antimicrobial effectiveness against a large spectrum of micro-organisms. Novaron has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an antimicrobial additive for polymers that come into contact with food.

The touch screen is comprised of ITO-coated glass. This product is resistant to the following solvents: butanone, acetone, alcohol, benzyl alcohol, methane dichloride, toluene and benzene. It can therefore be regularly disinfected with a variety of cleaning products.
